Moot Court: Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot

4 ECTS / 24h / English

The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (“The Vis Moot”) is an annual competition which brings together an array of students coming from common and civil law backgrounds. Students are presented with a business dispute to be settled through international commercial arbitration, which will require them to develop the art of advocacy and to dive into the gripping world of arbitration.

The competition comprises two moments: a written phase, taking place between October and January, where students are supplied with the problem and asked to submit written memoranda (both for claimant and respondent); and the oral hearings phase, to be held in March/April at the University of Vienna.

Students attending the seminar will prepare for the written and oral phases of this challenging competition. Based on the work developed during the coaching sessions, three students of Católica Global School of Law will then be selected to officially represent the School in the Vis Moot.
