Católica Lisbon School of Law welcomes Dr. Wim Maas to the Faculty as part of its newly established Professorship in International Patent Litigation.

Católica is proud to appoint Dr. Wim Maas, Partner and Co-Head of the Patents & Innovation practice at Taylor Wessing. He is particularly specialized in patent litigation within highly technical sectors such as Telecoms/IT and Life Sciences. Since its establishment in June 2023, Dr. Maas has been one of the leading litigators appearing before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

The Professorship of Dr. Maas also led to the creation of the Executive Program in Advanced Patent Litigation and UPC - a 6 month in-depth program taught by Dr. Maas with the support of guest lecturers who are all leading figures in the global patent litigation community. The course blends theoretical foundations with practical application, featuring lectures, case studies, interactive debates and an extensive mock trial designed to equip participants with the expertise needed to navigate complex patent disputes in the modern European legal landscape.
