Johannes Maurer is a German qualified lawyer and software developer. He studied law at Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, King's College London and the University of St. Gallen (HSG). After this, he completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt/Main. At the same time, he acquired extensive self-taught knowledge in the areas of computer programming and software development.

In his professional career, Johannes Maurer initially worked as a lawyer in the structured finance practice group international law firm in Frankfurt/Main, where he was also part of the Legal Tech task force. In 2019, he joined BRYTER. As the Director for Sales Engineering & Solutions Architecture EMEA, he is responsible for the strategic development, implementation and marketing of legal tech products with law firms and corporations.

As an affiliate at the BRYTER Center for Digitalization & Law at EBS Law School, Germany, Johannes Maurer researches and teaches at the intersection of law and software. He is particularly involved in workshops and the lecture "Introduction to Legal Engineering".
