Jan Kleinheisterkamp (Dr. iur., Hamburg) is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics, where he has been working and teaching since 2008 on international commercial arbitration and contracts as well as investment treaty law. Since leaving his full-time academic position in 2021, he now focuses on his work as an international arbitrator and mediator based in Brussels.

Professor Kleinheisterkamp has been appointed to the World Bank's ICSID Panel of Conciliators by the UK Government in 2020 and was a member of the Governing Body for Dispute Resolution of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) from 2014-2019. He has also served as a rapporteur to the CISG Advisory Council and as a member of the Advisory Group on International Arbitration of the UK Government.

Prior to joining LSE, he was an assistant professor at the HEC School of Management, Paris (2004-2008), and previously a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg (1998-2004).
