A team of three students from Católica Global School of Law – Catalin Pantiru (Romania), Isabela Assis (Brazil) and Thandiwe Majama (Botswana) – accompanied by their coach, Professor Miguel Mota Delgado, competed in the regional round of the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition, which took place in Vilnius, Lithuania. Our student Catalin Pantiru won the award for Best Oralist in the regional round, where Católica competed against the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Passau. The final results will be known on March 3.

Success in the regional round will secure the team a place in the final round, held at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. This final round will gather the best 18 teams from across Europe, making it a highly competitive event.

The Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition, named after the renowned Danish judge and human rights advocate, provides law students with a unique opportunity to engage deeply with the principles and implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights. The competition simulates the procedures of complaints to the European Court of Human Rights, offering participants invaluable practical experience.
