A Celebration of Achievement: CGSL’s 2025 LL.M. Graduation Ceremony

Thursday, June 26, 2025 - 17:34

On June 25, Católica Global School of Law hosted its 2025 LL.M. Graduation Ceremony — a day dedicated to honouring the journey of our graduating LL.M. students and all they have accomplished over the past year.

Held in an atmosphere filled with pride and emotion, the ceremony brought together graduates, their families and friends, and faculty members for a heartfelt celebration.

Opening the event, Rector Isabel Capeloa Gil reminded students of the broader mission of justice that defines their path forward: “In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which still resonate today, we must remember that ‘injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.’ This is a truth you must carry — not just as a quote, but as a call."

This year, the graduating class included students from 24 different nationalities, once again reinforcing CGSL’s identity as a truly global law school. From Ukraine to Oman, China to the Dominican Republic, Botswana to Mexico, each of them brought their unique perspective to our classrooms, enriching the learning experience for all. Throughout the year, they also took part in a wide range of academic and extracurricular experiences, including international Moot Court competitions where our teams earned notable achievements and represented CGSL with distinction.

With speeches that captured the sense of unity in this cohort's journey, the ceremony was a reminder of what CGSL stands for: a deeply connected network of people shaping the future of law. Representing the students, Maximilian Berger stated that CGSL is "the closest university community I have experienced. I am truly honoured to be part of this inspiring group of people, where everyone contributed to creating a fantastic year".

Closing the ceremony, Dean Miguel Poiares Maduro stressed the importance of this sense of community: "In a time when communities are increasingly fragmented, polarised, and divided — or used to exclude rather than include — it is so rewarding to see that you, the students, have built this community. A true community of knowledge.”

Congratulations, Class of 2025 — your future starts now!
