Católica Global School of Law is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with EU Law Live, marking the launch of a podcast series focusing on key developments in CJEU case law. The partnership will see Católica promote a collection of podcasts exploring landmark judicial decisions that are crucial to understanding EU law, aligning with Católica’s mission to advance legal education in today’s digital era.

About the Partnership
The collaboration with EU Law Live – a leading online platform for EU law-related content – allows Católica to reinforce its commitment to fostering legal thought leadership in Europe and beyond. Each episode of ‘The Case’ will feature prominent voices in the field discussing recent pivotal decisions handed down by the Court of Justice.
The podcast series will be curated by two renowned scholars in the field of EU Law: Miguel Poiares Maduro, Dean at Católica Global School of Law, and Daniel Sarmiento, from EU Law Live. Together, they will ensure the episodes cover topics that are both timely and relevant to scholars, practitioners, and students of EU law.
Listeners can find the podcast on EU Law Live’s platform, and each episode will also be shared through Católica’s website and social media channels.
First Episode Now Available
The first episode of ‘The Case’ is now live and sets the tone for what promises to be a very engaging series. In it, Dean Miguel Poiares Maduro and Petros Mavroidis, Eversheds Sutherland Professor at Católica, discuss with Guillermo Iñiguez the issues that have emerged following the recent and widely discussed Diarra decision (C-650/22) on the compatibility with EU law of FIFA’s rules on the international transfers of professional football players. The Opinion on the case had been handed down in April by Advocate General Maciej Szpunar, who was recently at Católica for the Francisco Lucas Pires Distinguished Lecture.
Over the next year, ‘The Case’ will continue to address important cases decided by the Court of Justice, which affect not only the EU, but also the global community. Católica’s partnership with EU Law Live is a reflection of our dedication to global, forward-thinking legal research and to providing the broader public with access to high-quality content in different formats.
