A team of students from Católica Global School of Law recently showcased their skills at the VII Lisbon Vis Pre-Moot, held from March 19 to 21. Fabian Krempel, Mara Erath and Maximilian Berger, assisted by student coach Stefan Niederstrasser, represented the school with distinction at the event.
The Lisbon Pre-Moot, a preparatory event for the renowned Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, welcomed 22 teams from 11 jurisdictions, bringing together over 100 participants. The event provided an invaluable platform for law students to refine their oral advocacy and legal reasoning skills ahead of the rounds in Vienna.
Throughout the competition, the Católica team faced off against the University of Versailles, the University of Erlangen, the University of Florence, and, finally, the University of Graz. With rigorous judging by experienced legal professionals, the Pre-Moot served as an essential step in the preparation of our students for the Willem C. Vis Moot.
Beyond the competition itself, the event featured networking opportunities such as the Vis Moot Alumni Gathering, co-organized by the Portuguese Arbitration Moot Association (PAMA) and the Moot Alumni Association (MAA). Participants also had the chance to engage with top law firms, including CGSL longstanding partners like Abreu Advogados, Eversheds Sutherland, PLMJ, and VdA.
Congratulations to Maximilian, Mara, and Fabian for their dedication and hard work!
