This course offers an introduction to securities regulation with a European perspective. Securities regulation is about financial instruments and financial markets. This course will cover matters such as the mapping of EU securities regulation, the architecture of European securities regulators, the policy rationales underlying European securities regime, takeover regulation, the definition of security, registration requirement for public offerings, and new challenges to securities regulations such a crypto trading, blockchain and fintechs.
