As the internet became ubiquitous, the legal questions and regulations multiplied. This course focuses on fundamental topics that are central to understanding the role of law in cyberspace, especially governance, State jurisdiction and its interplay with private ordering, and the accountability and liability of intermediaries.
The aim is to equip students with a critical view and essential knowledge in order to be able to reason about the current and future shape of the internet as a global phenomenon, central to contemporary life.
