Comparative Law in Action is different than usual moot courts. It is a one-of-a-kind competition that brings together students from top law schools to work on an immersive multimedia case study. The goal is to prepare students to face complex situations at the intersection of comparative law and technology, placing them in the shoes of tomorrows’ legal advisors, and to find out-of-the-box solutions to today’s global issues.
The competition, which is organised by IE Law School, is composed of two phases:
(1) The Virtual Phase
Students will receive detailed case facts and take part in writing and oral skills workshops, as well as expert legal roundtables. This phase culminates with the submission of written memoranda, typically prepared on behalf of two clients.
(2) The Oral Rounds
Selected students will represent Católica Global School of Law during the experiential weekend in April/May 2026 at IE in Madrid. They will present arguments on behalf of each client before a jury and compete against teams from Bocconi, Bucerius, Edinburgh, FGV Rio, Maastricht, Tilburg, and Sciences Po.
Application Process
Students interested in participating must apply by submitting their CV and cover letter no later than November 30. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews, which will be held until December 12. The final selection of students representing CGSL will be announced before the winter break.
Preparation and periodic coaching sessions will begin in January 2026. Additional information will be shared ahead of the interview stage.
