Law and Cinema

2 ECTS / 12h / English

This seminar offers an innovative approach to the study of law by using movies as a tool for analysis. Through the screening and analysis of recent movies, students will examine the relations between legal theory, judicial practice, ethics, and geopolitical realities. The aim is to develop a critical understanding of contemporary challenges relating to human rights, intellectual property and technology regulations.

The main goals of this seminar are to:

- Analyse the practical application of complex legal rules (EU law, international law, digital law) in crisis situations.

- Identify conflicts between national and international jurisdictions.

- Assess the ethical and political dimensions of legal decisions.
