Legal Automation and Engineering

2 ECTS / 12h / English

Digital transformation is fundamentally changing the way how legal professionals work, their roles, and existing business models in the legal market. International law firms like Linklaters, DLA Piper, and Paul Hastings, and legal departments at companies like McDonald’s and ING Bank are already building bespoke legal solutions to accelerate legal processes and improve business outcomes — with no coding or technical background needed.

In the Legal Automation & Engineering seminar, students will see how it is done and have the opportunity to test legal automation for themselves. They will gain insight and hands-on experience in legal tech and no-code automation to prepare them for their future careers.

The course aims to provide students with a sound understanding of the entire value chain in legal automation and engineering. Students will gain fundamental knowledge and methodological skills in areas such as software development, project management, document generation and innovative business models in the legal market. In addition, students can acquire practical skills and build their own digital solutions using the BRYTER platform. They will experience real use cases and learn how to digitally transform legal workflows and processes.

After successful completion of the seminar, BRYTER will award a “Legal Engineering Certificate”.
