Since the kick-off of the competition in February, our LL.M. students worked hard, under the guidance of Professor Benedita Menezes Queiroz, to produce written memoranda about a complex multimedia case blending technology and comparative law.The oral rounds took place at IE Law School’s headquarters in Madrid, where CGSL was brilliantly represented by Laura Lellau, Leonor Barreto, and Sebastian Steinert, who competed against teams from Bocconi University, Bucerius Law School, the University of Edinburgh, FGV Rio, King’s College London, Maastricht University, Tilburg University, and Sciences Po.

In addition to the overall victory, the team also won the awards for Best Memoranda and Best Oralist Team.

LL.M. Law in a European and Global Context | 2022 - 2023

I had never participated in a moot court before, and to be very honest it was something outside of my comfort zone. But it turned out to be the best experience ever! I was able to strengthen my presentation skills in addition to deepen my legal knowledge, especially in the topics of data protection, emotional recognition AI and corporate social responsibility. Moreover, getting into contact with students from other universities across Europe and Brazil was amazing. It was great to be in this international environment and learning with and from each other.
