Law and Automation

3 ECTS / 18h / English
In a rapidly evolving world, the study of law extends beyond statutes and courtrooms. This course invites students to explore the dynamic relationship between law, human behavior, economic insights, and emerging technologies. It will examine how economic principles interact with legal principles and frameworks, how behavioral phenomena influence legal decision-making and the development of legal norms, and how artificial intelligence (AI) could impact the law and its future evolution. Specific attention will be given to the ways new technologies—including Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI Agents— interact with legal decentralization, democratization, norm creation, dispute resolution, and citizen empowerment.
