Maria Laura Matos is a research associate at Católica Global School of Law within the Horizon Europe project "Promoting Fairness of the Music Ecosystem in a Platform- Dominated and Post-Pandemic Europe" (Fair MusE). This inter-disciplinary project joins several European Universities and music stakeholders with the purpose of creating a fairer, more competitive, and sustainable music sector in Europe. Maria Laura’s research focuses on national and European copyright law, as well as intellectual property law in general, particularly EU trademark law and geographical indications, interests which stem from her earlier internships at the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office in Alicante, as well as at the European Maritime Safety Agency based in Lisbon. She holds a Cum Laude Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (LL.M.) from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), and a Cum Laude Bachelor’s Degree in International and European Law (LL.B.) from the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
