Last Friday, Católica Global School of Law hosted its first Padel Tournament, bringing together students and faculty for a day of friendly competition and community building. Organized by our LL.M. students and held at the Rackets Pro EUL complex, the event welcomed players of both beginner and experienced levels, in a total of 16 teams, and featured a lively mix of fast-paced matches and relaxed social moments.

The tournament was structured around a group format, followed by elimination rounds. After several intense sets, the final matches saw Caroline Godon & June Pascal Thurmann (beginner level) and Luís Martins & Mads Nordly Traidl (experienced level) take home the title. A competition for best team name was also held, with team “Padel de Nata” (David Kienreich & Fabian Krempel) winning by an overwhelming margin.

Beyond the competition, the event was a celebration of the CGSL spirit, reinforcing the ties between students and faculty that make our community unique. We extend our thanks to all participants for their energy and good sportsmanship, and to the organisers – LL.M. students Lara Rußbült and Maximilian Berger – for making the event a success.
