Moot Court: Comparative Law in Action

4 ECTS / 24h / English

The Moot Court: Comparative Law in Action is a one-of-a-kind competition that brings together students from top law schools around the world to work on an immersive multimedia case study. The goal is to prepare students to face complex situations at the intersection of comparative law and technology, placing them in the shoes of tomorrows’ legal advisors, and to find out-of-the-box solutions to today’s global issues.

The challenge, which is organized by IE Law School, is composed of two phases: a virtual phase, where students are supplied with case facts and are expected to produce written memoranda; and a face-to-face experiential weekend, which will take place in April/May at IE in Madrid. Students enrolled in the seminar will work on the virtual phase of the challenge in Lisbon, with periodic coaching sessions. Three students will then be selected to represent Católica Global School of Law at the in-person oral rounds, competing against teams from Bocconi, Bucerius, Edinburgh, FGV Rio, King’s College, Maastricht, Tilburg and Sciences Po.
