José Maria de Areilza

José M. de Areilza, Count of Rodas, has a double appointment in the Department of Law and the Department of Strategy and General Management at ESADE Business and Law School, Barcelona. He holds the Jean Monnet Chair at ESADE Law School. He is also Secretary General of Aspen Institute Spain, a partner institution of The Aspen Institute in the USA. He received a Licenciado en Derecho degree from Universidad Complutense, a Masters degree and a Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School, and an Masters degree from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He is a Member of the New York Bar. Between 1996-2000 he served as an Advisor to the Spanish Prime Minister on European and North-American Affairs. He has published extensively on European law and integration. He writes a weekly column for the newspaper ABC. Senior Research Fellow at Real Instituto Elcano, Member of the European Council on Foreign Relations and Academy Adjunct Faculty at Chatham House, London. During 2018-19 he is a Visiting Professor at INSEAD-Fontainebleau
