Católica Global School of Law is pleased to announce a significant partnership with Harvey, a leading provider of GenAI solutions tailored for the legal sector. This collaboration aims to enhance the integration of advanced AI technologies into the school's legal education and training programs, positioning students and future legal professionals at the forefront of technological innovation.
This initiative exemplifies the University's ongoing commitment to modernising its teaching methodologies to keep pace with the rapid evolution of legal practice. As GenAI systems increasingly influence legal workflows, law schools are called to equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate this transformed landscape. The goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and current professional demands, ensuring that students develop critical legal skills and methodological expertise.
As underlined by our Dean, Prof. Miguel Poiares Maduro, "This partnership with Harvey reflects our commitment to ensuring that legal education remains closely aligned with developments in professional practice. GenAI is already influencing how legal work is conducted, and our students must understand both its capabilities and its limits."
The partnership will primarily focus on two key objectives:
First, it aims to broaden student exposure to legal GenAI tools by incorporating them directly into the curriculum and through practical, applied learning activities. Students will have opportunities to interact with these AI systems in simulated legal scenarios, case studies, and real-world projects, fostering hands-on experience.
Second, the collaboration will facilitate the development of specialised training programs to upskill legal professionals and practitioners, enabling them to utilise GenAI tools effectively in their everyday work.
This collaborative effort is part of Católica's broader strategy to prepare students for a dynamic legal environment influenced heavily by technological advancements. By integrating cutting-edge AI tools into education and professional development, the school seeks to prepare a new generation of lawyers in the age of AI.
